Weixin QQ - Designing Together

A villa with pool isn't that surprising - even a hotel might also have its own swimming pool. Most developments these days have typical apartment layouts, with the rare provision of a common swimming pool.

Singapore-based SCDA's Soori High Line residences encapsulate its architecture and interiors sensibilities in a collection of 31 private residences, with 16 apartments having their own private pool. Principal and founder Soo Chan has completed many high-rise pools in Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and other parts of Asia - but a high-rise private swimming pool in Manhattan is a rare feat.

SCDA Completes The Sanya Edition in Hainan, China

Hainan, China

December 20, 2016

Wallpaper* - Whether the Chinese island of Hainan really does deserves its moniker of ‘Hawaii of the East’ is still up for debate, but judging by the blue-chip hotel and resort brands that are shooting up along North Haitang Road in the island’s southern city of Sanya, there’s no gainsaying its lucre, especially among the massive mainland Chinese tourist market.

The latest bold-faced name to land on a prized slice of beach here is Ian Schrager’s Edition. The 512-room hotel was designed by Singaporean-based architecture firm SCDA, whilst Schrager’s team furnished the capacious rooms with light oak, white drapes, Le Labo toiletries and gigantic circular bathtubs.

August 12, 2016

SCDA's design for Ayala Land's Park Central Towers was featured in three major Philippine publications. The high end residential towers will rest on a vast 15,860-square metre parcel adjacent to another Ayala Land Premier project, the Roxas Triangle Towers—completing the Roxas Triangle block.

The building’s unique architectural design includes special four-storey high common spaces called Sky Terraces that will house either a gym, swimming pools, residents’ lounge or spas. Anchoring the luxury appointments and central location is an upscale retail podium that will house highly-curated shops and restaurants.  Philippine Tatler  The Manila Bulletin  Business Mirror

Architect Soo K. Chan, recipient of Singapore’s inaugural President’s Design Award, and his firm, SCDA Architects, have recently completed renovations on Singapore’s National Design Centre, a showcase of innovation and encouragement in the possibilities of design. Centrally located in the arts, cultural, learning and entertainment district in the Bras Basah-Bugis area, the National Design Centre will be a nexus for all things design, serving as a lecture hall, space for public exhibitions, and think tank for Singapore’s growing design culture. As Singapore’s primary hub for design, the National Design Centre serves to foster a strong design culture in Singapore and deepen the appreciation of good design through community engagement activities and design showcases.
